2007 Dodge Durango Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Steering Knuckle on 2007 Dodge Durango?
A: When servicing or fixing the steering knuckle, you need to raise and support the vehicle first and afterwards remove the wheel and tire. After that, take out the brake caliper, rotor, shield and ABS wheel speed sensor, only if the car has one. With 4X4 models, take out the front half shaft nut. Take off the nut on the tie rod end and then separate the tie rod from the knuckle with puller 8677, making sure not to hurt the ball joint seal. Unscrew the upper ball joint nut and work Remover 8677 into the area to loosen and remove the ball joint from the knuckle. Hold the lower control arm up with a jack, detach the lower ball joint nut and pull off the ball joint using Remover 8677. Pull out the hub/bearing bolts found in the knuckle and pop out the hub/bearing from the steering knuckle before taking off the whole unit.
