Both steering knuckle service and repair require first positioning and supporting the vehicle and then taking out the wheel and tire from the assembly. After that, uninstall the disc
Brake Caliper, rotor, shield and ABS speed sensor. Take off the tie-rod, bring off the stabilizer link and then disassemble the hub/bearing. Set up a jack stand below the lower suspension arm, remove the lower
Ball Joint nut after it and take the ball joint out of the knuckle by using Remover C-4150A. Disconnect the ball joint from the knuckle by carefully using Remover MB-991113 and removing the upper ball joint nut. After you fit the steering knuckle onto the ball joints, attach the nuts, tightening the lower one to 127 Nm (94 ft. lbs.) and the upper one to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.) and add new cotter pins. Place the hub/bearing on the car again, remove the support for the lower suspension arm and fit the ABS speed sensor, brake dust shield, rotor and caliper. After that, put the stabilizer link into place, attach the tie rod to the steering knuckle arm, place the wheel and tire assembly on again, remove the jack and let the vehicle down to finish the job.
