2007 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install and Service an A/C Hose in an HVAC System on 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: To attach the hose/line, place the suction line in the engine compartment; then remove the tape or putty plugs from the suction line and liquid line fittings and both expansion valve ports. Apply a small amount of clean refrigerant oil to new rubber seal O-rings, connect them to the suction line and liquid line fittings and show them next to the expansion valve before reattaching the fittings to the expansion valve connection. Install the nut of the suction line and liquid line fittings on the expansion valve and tighten it until it reads 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.). Attach the suction retainer clip retainer to the right front side of the strut tower mounting bracket on the receiver/drier. Pull the tape or plugs from the compressor suction port and the suction line fitting, oil a rubber O-ring with clean refrigerant oil and fit the seal onto the suction line fitting. Put in a new dual plan seal and connect the suction line fitting to the compressor suction port, tightening the nut to 23 Nm. Attach the front tube to the wiper module drain again on the right side of the engine and then put the air cleaner top cover along with the snorkel onto the air cleaner housing. For RHD models, fit the suction line into the retaining bracket at the very top of the dash. For rear heating-A/C systems, raise the vehicle, disconnect the tape or plugs from the two fittings, rub a new rubber O-ring seal with clean oil and put it on the underbody suction line fitting. Do not split the suction line extension from the underbody suction line fitting. Tighten them by hand to 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.). Attach a new tie strap forward of the suction line connections for the rear heating-A/C system. Afterward, put the negative battery cable in place, clear the refrigerant system and recharge the refrigerant.
