2007 Dodge Nitro Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Parking Brake Cable on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Make sure the parking brake cables are locked and lift out the rear seat to work on them. After that, pull the rear of the carpet forward enough to see and reach the parking brake cables through the floor. After disconnecting the two wires from the equalizer, remove the cables from the mount with a suitable box end wrench at the points marked by tangs. Pull each cable through the floor with the grommets. After taking out the stabilizer bar bracket retainer, unfasten the park brake cable from it and then put the existing tightener back on the bracket. With a suitable box end wrench, fit it over the tangs and remove the cable from the bracket on the axle and finally, get rid of the brake cable from the lever.
