2007 Dodge Ram 1500 A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How Can Proper Maintenance of the A/C Condenser Prevent Compressor Damage and Ensure Optimal Performance on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: When checking the equipment that processes refrigerant, adjusting the oil level inside the compressor is necessary to keep the part safe. If replacing only the A/C condenser, be sure to add 1 fluid ounce (30 milliliters) of the right refrigerant oil into the refrigerant system. Whenever a refrigerant line is opened, you should always change its O-ring seals and gaskets to stop leaks. Make sure both the radiator and condenser air seals are exactly where they should be for good A/C and engine cooling. After removing the condenser cooling fan from its old location, attach it to the A/C condenser, drill in four screws and tighten them to 20 inch-pounds or 2.2 Nm. In the engine compartment, secure the A/C condenser and the fan assembly in position, fasten the lower tabs into the lower flanges and hold the A/C condenser in place with the 2 bolts tightened to 10.5 Nm (95 in. lbs.) on the upper crossmember. Connect the wire harness to the A/C condenser cooling fan and after that, hook the A/C discharge line and A/C liquid line to the A/C condenser. Attach the negative cable, evacuate the refrigerant, charge the system using the right amount of refrigerant oil and do this after removing and replacing several elements.
