Set up the rocker arm assembly so that the hollow side of the rocker arms is over the lash adjusters; this will reduce the risk of major damage. Put a little engine oil on the rocker arms before installation. When installing on cylinder No. 4, manually turn the crankshaft to place cylinder No. 1 at BDC intake stroke. No. 1 cylinder should be rotated by the crankshaft to its bottom dead center during the combustion stroke. To complete cylinders No. 3 and No. 5, crank the crankshaft to reach TDC exhaust on cylinder No. 1. When working on cylinder No. 2 or No. 6, crank the engine until cylinder No. 1 is at the start of ignition timing. Lift the valve clearance checker and apply the special tool 8516, since this will enable you to install the rocker arm, then cover the cylinder head.
