2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Oil Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: Which Oil Filter is Best for All Engines and How to Remove It on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: All engines come with a disposable, full-flow oil filter 1 and you should use a Mopar(R) oil filter or one of similar quality. Before setting a drain pan below it, use a fitted oil filter wrench to unscrew the oil filter. Turn the oil filter anti-clockwise so it can be removed from the oil filter boss on the cylinder block. After the filter comes apart, place the gasket side up to guide less oil out, then take the filter out of the vehicle. Clean the gasket sealing surface of any grease with a wiping cloth and remove the filter gasket just as you remove the filter.
