2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Rear Seat Belt on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
A: You should first examine the seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps and anchors, replacing worn, cut or torn belts, straightening out twisted ones and replacing any bent or damaged buckles, retractors, tether plates or anchors from the DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog. Most of the retractor, including the seat belt, should be attached to the bracket on the rear bench, placing its tab inside the locating slot in the bench frame. Right after attaching the retractor, tighten the screw on the seat frame bracket to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.). Route the lower anchor, latch plate and seat belt webbing through the turning loop bracket and lower loops at the top of the seat back frame so that the webbing is not twisted. Attach the two bushings and the two turning loops to the bracket, placing one of each behind and one in front. Pass the pivot pin through the turning loops, bushings and bracket and hold it in place with the new push nut. Attach the cover to the rear seat back frame, put the trim cover on and finish with the padding once it is in place. Lead the seat belt webbing through the small trim bits and lock the covers to the top of the seatback frame. Push the plastic fasteners through the holes in the trim covers and turn them to attach them to the brackets. Put the lower anchor for each seat belt below the rear seat cushion frame, with two washers and a spacer in between and tighten the screws holding the lower anchor in place to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.) For the outboard left seat, set the plastic trim cap back onto the lower anchor screw. Buckle the seat belt onto the outside of the rear seat, place the molded plastic shield on its back and finish with the rear passenger bench back in the vehicle.
