2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your Rear Seat Belt and Retractor on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
A: Inspect all rear seat belts, buckles, mounting pieces, retractors, tether straps and their anchors for proper installation and correct operation and replace cut, torn or damaged belts, straighten twisted ones, tighten loose fasteners and change any defective or broken buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates. Pull out the rear passenger bench seat with the seat belt and retractor and remove the back seat shield. Release the seat belt buckle found on the right outboard edge of the rear seat. For this position, unfasten and remove the cap from the screw at the left end of the seat cushion base, then remove those screws and both lower anchors with their two washers and spacer. Pull up on the webbing of each rear seat belt to reveal the plastic push pin fastener, unplug it and lift out the turning loop trim covers and seat belts from the top of the seat back. Following this, take off the plasticky molding on the sides of the seat back, along with the padding and then the seat back cover. Cut away the push nut from the pivot pin in the back of the rear seat back frame loop bracket, then pull the pin, turn the two loops and remove the both bushings from the bracket. Weave the belt latch plate, the lower anchor and the webbing through the two turning loops and the turning loop bracket at the top of the seat back frame. After that, remove the screw holding the rear seat belt retractor to the bracket on the rear side of the seat cushion. Lift the belt and retractor together out of the bracket.
