2007 Jeep Commander Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Rocker Arm on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: Before beginning on the rocker arm assembly, unplug the battery negative cable to make sure it doesn't start unexpectedly. Take out the cylinder head cover. For removing the rocker arm on cylinder No. 4, crank the engine until cylinder No. 1 has reached its bottom dead center intake stroke. For taking out the rocker arm on cylinder No. 1, let the crankshaft turn till cylinder No. 1 is at the lowest firing point. To remove the rocker arm on cylinder No. 3 or No. 5, open the #1 cylinder and while it is at TDC exhaust, rotate the crankshaft. First, turn the crankshaft so that cylinder No. 1 reaches TDC ignition stroke when working on rocker arm removal on cylinders No. 2 and No. 6. With Special Tool 8516 Rocker Arm Remover, apply heavy pressure on the valve spring to withdraw the rocker arm.
