You should lift the vehicle, then support the axle before servicing or repairing the control arm. Then, take out the tire and wheel and, after that, the inner fender well (2). After that, detach the upper ball joint retaining nut and pull the upper ball joint (2) off the knuckle (3) using special tool #8677 (1). After these steps, take out the nut (1) and bolt that attaches the upper control arm (5) to the vehicle's body and then remove the upper control arm (5) from the vehicle.
