Q: How to Properly Install an Axle Shaft on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Clean the axle shaft and put a thin layer of Mopar Wheel Bearing Grease or something similar on both the splines and seal contact point. After that, fit the hub bearing and brake shield onto the axle shaft. After that, place the axle shaft through the hub bearing into the steering knuckle and into the differential side gears. Secure the assembly by driving three hub bearing bolts through the steering knuckle and torqueing them to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.). After that, put the hub nut on the axle shaft and tighten it to 136 Nm or 100 ft. lbs. Once everything is set, fit the wheel speed sensor and the brake components.
