2007 Jeep Wrangler Exhaust Pipe Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely and Effectively Service an Exhaust Pipe on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Always let the exhaust system cool down because it heats up, especially at the catalytic converter, leading to quick overheating. Be careful not to get flames near any fuel lines when you have your torch out. The first step is to take off the oxygen sensor connector(s), so you don't accidentally harm the wiring or sensor. First, get your vehicle up off the ground, apply rust penetrant to the studs and nuts and let it work on the bolts for 5 minutes. After that, remove the oxygen sensor wires from their connectors and remove the sensors from the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter. After that, take off the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold before taking out the nuts holding the exhaust pipe to muffler flange. At last, move the exhaust pipe forward past where it hooks onto the transmission support which will let you pull out the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter from the vehicle.
