2007 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Fuel Rail Installed on a 3.8L Engine on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first thing to do before installing the fuel rail on a 3.8L engine is to check that the fuel injectors are ready. Wipe the machined bores in the intake manifold clean and add a little engine oil onto every fuel injector O-ring before assembly. Make sure each injector goes into the head's openings by installing the fuel rail/fuel injector assembly, but make sure you don't harm the O-rings in the process. Push firmly down on the right side of the fuel rail until the injectors are on the cylinder head shoulder and repeat for the left side. Use the appropriate torque for the manual or the specified wrench and secure the four mounting bolts (2). Attach the remaining end of the fuel line latch clip (4) to the fuel rail and then slide each electrical connector onto the end of the fuel injectors (1) and press the red slider (2) to lock them in place. Make sure the connector won't budge by pulling on it softly. Install the upper part of the intake manifold, join the battery cable again and energize the engine to see if it leaks any liquid.
