- Q: How to Install and Align a Control Arm on 2008 Chrysler 300?A: Hook the compression link in place and assemble bolt and nut (1) for mounting link (3) at the crossmember. Leave it loose for now. Then, connect link (3) to the knuckle by mounting in bolt (2) and nut (2), but don't tighten them yet. When that's complete, place the tire and wheel assembly (1) onto the car, then fix the wheel mounting nuts (3) at 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.) for regular cars or 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.) for police automobiles. Park the vehicle on a rack or lift, adjust its height as needed and have access to the link at any time. Set the fasteners of the compression links to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.) at the crossmember and 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.) near the knuckle. As the last step, have your wheels aligned.
