  • Q: What is the correct method to install a Piston Ring Set on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
    A: Check that the end gap using the bottom rows of piston rings has Ring # 1 clearance splits in the middle of .20 mm (.007 in.) and .35 mm (.013 in.) and Ring # 2 clearance in the middle of .20 mm (.007 in.) and .40 mm (.015 in.). After this, measure the gap between the cylinder walls and each piston ring: Ring # 1 should be no more than .060 mm (.002 in.) and Ring # 2 shouldn't be greater than .030 mm (.001 in.). Place the compression ring first, the sealing ring next, the oil ring on the rail and end with the oil ring expander. Carefully set up Ring one on the tram rail at the top, Ring two and the spacer expander at the tram rail at the bottom. After that, put the pistons and connecting rods into place.
