  A: To do maintenance or fix the hood cable, start by opening the hood after you unlatch it. Remove the remote hood release cable from the hood latch and remove whatever is attached to it to free it. The following step is to get rid of the trim panel on the left front cowl and remove the screws from the hood release handle which detaches the cable from the clip. Detach the rubber grommet from the place on the dash panel behind the instrument panel, then withdraw the release cable through the dash panel hole. Afterwards, take out the cable and handle from underneath the vehicle.
