2008 Chrysler Pacifica Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove a Rear Steering Knuckle on 2008 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: After locking out the automatic adjuster and putting the car in the air, arrange the rear steering knuckle for removal. Take away the parking brake cable bolt at the knuckle and after that, raise and eliminate the rear hub and bearing. After that, take out the parking brake shoe return spring and the shoe actuator sitting between the parking brake shoes and the cable's end. After removing the brake support and parking brake shoes, then undo the adapter's bolts to remove the caliper adapter. Under the spring link, put an under-hoist utility jack or jack stand and lift it to secure it in position. Take out the spring link-to-knuckle nut and bolt. First, consult Guide 9050A-2 while tapping the sleeve to make sure Tap 9050A-1 is always straight and does not bend, protecting it from damage. After putting Guide 9050A-2 over the sleeve in the knuckle, slide Tap 9050A-1 into the sleeve using the guide, cutting threads up to the halfway point of the bushing while often pulling out the tap to clear out anything that might block the tap's progress. Before putting Remover 9050A to use, apply thread lubricant to Bolt 9050A-3. Assemble the Remover using bolt, nut, spherical washer, thrust bearing and sleeve 9050A-5, with the hardened side of the thrust bearing facing the nut. To take out the spring link ball joint in the knuckle, push the assembled Remover inside the tapped knuckle sleeve until it stops and turn the nut downward until the angled parts match, continuing to turn until the knuckle sleeve is removed. Take out the nut and bolt holding the compression link on the knuckle, then the bolt and nut securing the toe link and the last two nuts and bolts joining the stabilizer link, tension link and camber link to the knuckle. In the end, take out the bolts holding the knuckle and hub mounting.
