It's important to line up the front wheels straight ahead, then remove the battery negative (-) cable and wait for two minutes so the air bag system reserve capacitor shuts off. Always remove the battery before you approach an undeployed air bag so no one gets hurt. After that, loosen the four air bag mounting screws and remove the air bag from the mount, cutting off the connections from the two air bag squib cables and the horn connector. Separate the wiring connection for the speed control from the Clock Spring and then take out the steering wheel retaining bolt and the damper. Take off the steering wheel by using a standard wheel puller on its rear hook. You should now take out the speed control switches and remote audio switches from the steering wheel.
