Insert Position Installer 1 over the outside diameter of the sealing boot and push down on the top until the lower control arm 3 is pushed directly up against the seal boot. Take off the headless grease fitting from the ball joint and use a standard zirc-type fitting. Hold on to the headless fitting so you can install it later. You should apply grease to the ball joint ahead of knuckle fitting so that the seal vents properly. After that, adding grease to the joint can be damaging to the seal.
