How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal on 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

To look after the main bearing seal on the crankshaft, first you must remove the transaxle and then the flex plate. Now, take a 3/16 flat bladed screwdriver and place it between the dust lip and the crankshaft seal's metal case and work the screwdriver at an angle against the metal end. Use care to separate the seal from the crank gear, so that the screwdriver does not come into contact with the seal part of the crankshaft, but contact with the crank chamfer is safe.
