2008 Chrysler Town & Country Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install an oil pan on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: You should begin the installation by cleaning both the oil pan and all the gasket locations. Gently spread a 1/8 inch bead of Mopar(R) Engine RTV GEN II around the oil pump housing to the rear seal retainer. After that, set the gasket over the oil pan hole in the engine, line up the oil level indicator and fasten it down with loose bolts. First use a torque wrench to tighten the M8 oil pan alignment bolt (1) to 28 Nm (250 lbs. in.) and follow with the alignment pan bolt (3) to the same torque. After that, proceed to tighten the remaining M8 bolts and M8 nuts to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.) and next tighten the M6 bolts to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.). Place the inspection shield between the engine and transmission bell housing, after which secure the A/C compressor mounting bracket bolts to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.). Place the lower A/C compressor and attach its bolts, tensioning them to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.) and lower the car once more. Next, set the upper auto compressor mounting bolts and tighten them to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.) and then switch to the oil indicator. Then, attach the radiator fans, ensure the core support is installed, add the oil to the engine crankcase and fix the close out panel.
