2008 Dodge Challenger Oil Pressure Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an Oil Pressure Switch and Accessory Drive Belt on 2008 Dodge Challenger?
A: Use Mopar(R) Thread Sealant with PTFE on the sensor threads and then fix the sensor into position on the engine block. After that, attach the oil pressure sensor and link the oil pressure sensor electrical connector. Site your generator and install the upper mounting bolt so it fits in the hole, but do not tighten it. Lift the vehicle, fit the lower bolts and tighten them to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs). Place the lower splash shield and insert the retaining bolts. Drop the vehicle and tighten the generator mounting bolt from the top to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs). Ensure that the serpentine accessory drive belt is fitted correctly, because letting the water pump spin in reverse could cause your engine to overheat. After that, connect the accessory drive belt and hook up the negative battery cable.
