2008 Dodge Dakota A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Service and Install an A/C Hose in an HVAC System for Liquid Line on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: Adjusting the refrigerant oil before servicing can protect your A/C compressor from damage. When replacing several refrigerant components, look at the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to determine the right amount of oil. Be sure to change both the O-rings and gaskets that surround the refrigerant line if the line has been opened for repairs. Set up the A/C pressure transducer directly onto the A/C liquid line and run the line up to the engine compartment. Remove all tape or plugs from the connections on the liquid line fittings and the condenser and evaporator ports. Apply clean refrigerant oil to the new O-ring seals and then install them on the spring-lock coupler fitting of the liquid line, using only those O-ring seals and refrigerant oil recommended for your R-134a system. Attach the A/C liquid line to the low-pressure inlet (3) on the evaporator and maintain it with the secondary catch clip (4). Bring the liquid line into the body retainers (5). Add oil onto the new O-ring seal and then attach it and a new gasket to the fitting on the liquid line before linking to the condenser outlet port (7). Put the nut (6) on the A/C liquid line and connect it to the condenser outlet port. Then, tighten the nut to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Arrange the air filter housing back into position, associate the wire harness (2) to the A/C pressure transducer and again connect the negative battery cable. Let out the refrigerant, set the oil level back to normal and top up the refrigerant as directed.
