2009 Dodge Dakota A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Install an A/C Hose Suction Line on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: The first step in installing the A/C suction line is to check that the refrigerant oil is correct to avoid the A/C system failing and the compressor being damaged. Always check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to get the proper amount of oil when replacing several A/C components. Before you disconnect a refrigerant line, make certain to change out the O-ring seals and gaskets to stop possible leaks. Insert the A/C suction line into the engine bay and take off any tape or plugs from both the suction line fittings, the accumulator and the compressor ports. Coat new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil, put them and the new gaskets onto the suction line fittings and use only the correct O-ring and approved refrigerant oil. Screw nut 1 onto the A/C suction line after you attach it to the A/C compressor and tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Then, fasten the suction line to the accumulator after fixing nut 1 and twist it until it reaches 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Screw the resonator onto the engine and then link the negative battery cable back to the engine. Remove the refrigerant, fix the refrigerant oil and charge the refrigerant system if required.
