2008 Dodge Dakota A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the A/C Accumulator on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: Start by removing and putting aside the negative terminal on the battery before removing the accumulator. Get the refrigerant out of your refrigerant system. After that, pull the air filter housing out to gain access to the A/C accumulator. Remove the suction line tube from the A/C accumulator and dispense with the old O-ring and gasket. Loosen the retaining clip that is keeping the spring-lock coupler attached to the evaporator and accumulator tubes. Reverse the bolts that hold the A/C accumulator to the bracket. Proper disconnection is done by using the A/C Special Tool 7193 or equivalent and discarding both tube O-rings. After each connection is opened, set plugs in them or tape them up. Should you need to, detach the bolts responsible for fixing the accumulator bracket onto the dash panel and pull out the bracket from the engine compartment.
