How to Detach the Front Shock Absorber on 2008 Dodge Dakota?

First, you will need to loosen and take out the upper shock nuts. After that, lift and hold the vehicle with jack stands before you remove the tire and wheel set. After that, take out the bolts for the disc brake caliper and remove the wheel speed sensor routing clip. Take off the upper ball joint nut and then use special tool 8677 to remove the ball joint from the knuckle. Support the lower control arm outboard side, then remove the nut from the stabilizer link and detach it from the lower control arm to get to the lower shock nut. After that, unscrew the lower shock bolt and nut, then carefully pull out the shock.
