Put the vehicle on a hoist and remove its splash shield if you are working on a 4.7L engine. After that, take off the lower radiator hose clamp and separate the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing. At the last step, unscrew the thermostat housing mounting bolts, remove the thermostat housing and take out the thermostat.
