2008 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove an A/C Condenser on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Isolate the negative battery cable from the negative terminal first and then recover the refrigerant from its system. After that, take out the grille and unscrew the three nuts attaching the A/C lines to the condenser tapping block in the far right corner of the engine compartment. Detach the discharge and liquid lines from the condenser tapping block, toss away the O-ring seals and gaskets and place plugs or tape over the opened fittings. Take out the screw holding the tapping block to the radiator and then take off the transmission cooler pipes from the radiator fluid cooler, putting plugs or tape over the exposed cooler ports. Remove the upper radiator crossmember and keep it somewhere safe, after which take out the retaining tabs that hold the upper condenser mounting brackets to the radiator. Slowly push the radiator towards the engine and ensure you keep note of where each air seal is. Pull up the A/C condenser straight so it comes away from the radiator and then remove the condenser from the vehicle.
