2008 Dodge Grand Caravan ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the ABS Control Module on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Before installing the module, wash away any contaminants from the HCU and ABM surfaces that come together. No lubricant should be applied to O-rings or solenoid valve stem seals during installation. If the solenoid valve seals are not brand new, replace them with new ones, to make sure no water or dirt can get into the valve; do not try to use old seals. Change the O-ring on the pump/motor connector if it is not new and make sure it sits correctly in its groove in the mounting housing. Arrange the parts so the ABM is aligned and tighten the four screws between the HCU and ABM which should be between 2 Nm and 17 in. lbs. Place the seal within the connector before installing the ABM harness connector. Connect the ABM wiring harness to the connectors in the ABM, close the cover and the connector lock mechanism will hold it in place. Attach the black jumper cable to the negative battery terminal. After that, attach the scan tool to get the ABM going, clear any errors, do the ABS Verification Test and drive the vehicle around to check it out.
