2008 Dodge Nitro Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Service and Repair a Second Row Outboard Seat Belt on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: To service the second row outboard seat belt, first update all parts, especially seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps and anchors for the proper installation or operation, changing any cut, frayed or ripped belts, straightening bent belts, tightening loose fasteners and replacing any buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates with new parts from the DaimlerChrysler Mopar(R) Parts Catalog. Set the retractor and seat belt assembly of the outboard second row on the lower inner C-pillar together and attach the bracket at this spot with a screw tightened to 44.5 Nm (33 ft. lbs.). Replace the quarter trim panel on the C-pillar's lower edge. Then, lay the seat belt turning loop over the upper C-pillar so the webbing between the retractor and loop is free from twists and tighten the screw until it shows 44.5 Nm (33 ft. lbs.) on the torque wrench. Reattach the trim onto the top of the vehicle's C-pillar. Push your hand through the outboard opening and place the anchor side of the lower seat belt over the stud located at the front end of the outboard seat bracket on the floor panel. Make sure the webbing left over the loop is not twisted. Put in and tighten the nut securing the lower seat belt anchor to the seat bracket with 62.5 Nm (46 ft. lbs.) pressure.
