2008 Dodge Nitro Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Air Bag Sensor in the C-Pillar on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: For access to the side impact sensor, you must deactivate the SRS by disconnecting the battery's negative cable and giving the system two minutes to drain its capacitor. You should not strike or drop the side impact sensor, since it might become damaged or uncured which may require that you purchase a new unit. The front and side impact sensors work the same and can be installed in either place. To begin, get rid of the trim from inside the lower right or left C-pillar first. After that, unscrew the nut holding the side impact sensor to the weld stud on the lower C-pillar and remove the sensor from the stud on the inner C-pillar. Also, remove the connector for the side impact sensor from its place in the side impact sensor.
