- Q: How to Maintain the Second Row Outboard Seat Belt on 2007 Dodge Nitro?A: Prior to servicing the outboard seat belt, inspect every seat belt, buckle, holder, retractor, strap and anchor and adjust or replace any fasteners you notice are loose, belts that are torn or frayed and oddly shaped or uneven buckles, retractors, latches or anchors. If an anchor for a child seat appears bent or damaged, have it replaced and never repair a seat belt or child restraint yourself; always find new and unused replacement parts in the DaimlerChrysler Mopar(R) Parts Catalog. Access the lower anchor by reaching down through the open area outside the second row seat back and unscrewing the nut that holds that anchor to the rear floor panel. Take the seat belt lower anchor out of the stud and unhook the trim and screw from the seat belt turning loop attached to the upper C-pillar. Then, eliminate the quarter trim around the inner lower C-pillar and the screw that holds the retractor bracket in place there. After that, remove the second row outboard seat belt and retractor as a single unit from the C-pillar.
