How to Service and Repair a Harmonic Balancer on 2008 Dodge Ram 1500?

The initial step in servicing these parts is to remove the negative cable from the battery. Then, remove the accessory drive belt and afterward, drain the cooling system. Unplug the upper hose on top of the radiator and then remove the upper fan shroud. Turn the fan and viscous assembly loose from the pump using 6958 Spanner with Adapter Pins 8346, then take off the assembly. Separate the electric link connected to the fan within the radiator shroud, as you will likely notice that the transmission cooler line is mounted at the bottom right edge of the housing. With the harmonic balancer bolt out of the way, attach Special Tools 8513 Insert and 1026 Three Jaw Puller to help remove the balancer.
