When the cylinder head is removed, compress the valve springs with a spring compressor and then take off the valve retaining locks. Lift the valve spring compressor slowly and then remove the valve spring retainer and the valve spring. Fix any burrs found on the valve stem lock grooves and clean the valve stem before you remove the valves, with identification, to keep the valve guides safe and make sure they go in the right place when you reinstall them. After that, remove the valve from the cylinder head and remove the valve seal, do the same for all the valves.
