- Q: How to Remove a Battery Tray on 2008 Jeep Commander?A: The first step to taking out the battery tray is to remove the battery from its tray. Then, remove the battery wire harness three pin connector (11) from the battery tray (12). After that, loosen both the screws (3) that fasten the battery tray (4) to the radiator bracket and to the inner fender. Next, remove the single screw (2) holding the outboard battery tray side to the inside fender and remove the one nut (1) attaching the battery tray rear to the front frame rail stud (5). Also, remove the battery tray from the battery's left front corner in the engine compartment.
