2008 Jeep Commander Brake Booster Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Brake Booster on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: You should begin with siphoning the vacuum from the master cylinder and taking out the main brake line from that same area and then remove the other main brake line from the HCU (4). After that, withdraw the secondary brake line from the master cylinder and the HCU, then take the 4 chassis lines out at the HCU. Remove the two mounting nuts known as (5) and then take out the HCU with the bracket from inside your car. Unplug the brake fluid level sensor's electrical connector (9) from the fluid reservoir (2), then detach the two master cylinder mount nuts (8). After disconnecting the vacuum hose at the booster check valve (10), pull the hush panel (2) and the steering column opening cover (2) out of the dashboard. Take out the retainer clip from the booster push rod (1) attached to the pedal pin (2) and move the push rod along the pin to remove it. Cut or dissolve the connection to the bulb and remove the brake lamp switch. Afterward, take off the four nuts (3) that link the booster to the dash panel, detach the three wire routing clips in the engine compartment, slide the harness (1) down and to the side and lift out the booster (1) from the car.
