• Q: How to Install a Washer Reservoir on 2009 Jeep Commander?

  A: Open the left front fender wheel house from under the car and lift the windshield washer reservoir up inside. Slide the hook off the washer reservoir into the small slot in the front section of the left frame rail and install the two screws to secure the reservoir after tightening them to 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.). Ensure that the front and rear washer hoses are fed into the correct outlet nipples of the washer pump so the washer systems run properly. Install the washer hose from the headlamp quick to the elbow fitting on the car's reservoir. Replace the headlamp and dash wire harness connectors on the washer fluid level switch, washer pump/motor and (if present), the headlamp washer pump/motor. Replace the plastic push-in fasteners that attach the left front wheelhouse splash shield to the inner fender as well as to the front fascia. Place the vehicle lower on the stand, attach the new blind rivet and join the washer reservoir filler neck mounting bracket to the upper radiator crossmember. Replace the washer reservoir filler cap hinging onto its hook on the filler neck, put the washer fluid back into the reservoir and attach the battery negative cable.
