  A: To perform the brake light switch service, first shut off the SRS, go to where the battery negative cable usually is and disconnect it to ensure accidental air bag discharge. After that, look for the brake lamp switch on the bracket next to the brake pedal on the dash panel. Unclip the retainer on the wire harness from the brake pedal support bracket and take the unibody wire harness take out and connector off the brake lamp switch. By rotating the switch housing round 30 degrees and then pulling the switch straight out, you can take it out of the bracket. Since the brake switch self-adjust is just a one-time feature, you must use a new switch if you remove the old one from its bracket. Throw away the brake lamp switch you took out.
