2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Expansion Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Expansion Valve on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To fix and repair the expansion valve, you need to cut off and separate the negative battery cable at the start. Take the refrigerant out of the refrigerant system. When the vehicle comes with a gasoline engine, take out the air intake tube and the resonator as the first thing. After that, remove the nut that holds the A/C suction line and the A/C liquid line to the A/C expansion valve. Take out both the suction line and liquid line connected to the A/C expansion valve, throwing away the seals. Cover or block the open ends of the refrigerant lines and route the lines where they're not in the way. Take off the two bolts that hold the A/C expansion valve to the evaporator tube tapping block. Take the A/C expansion valve out of the evaporator tube tapping block and discard both O-ring seals. Be sure to install plugs into or tape up every opened evaporator tube fitting and all of the expansion valve ports.
