  A: The very first step in servicing or repairing an air door actuator is to disconnect the negative battery cable, wait two minutes for the air bag system capacitor to drain and then disable the air bag system. A single actuator is used in single zone systems, while two actuators are present in dual zone systems, one controlling each zone. Remove the negative cable from the battery, open the dash panel silencer and remove the blend door actuator (part number 2) after removing the three screws that connect it to part number 3. Remove the actuator and take out the HVAC wire harness connector (part number 4). To replace the part on the right, start by removing the negative battery cable, then take out the glove box on LHD models or the instrument panel silencer on RHD models and withdraw the three screws holding the actuator in place. When everything is done, remove the actuator and pull apart the HVAC wire harness connector.
