How to Safely Install and Align a Wiper Switch on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before installing the wiper switch, stop the Supplemental Restraint System by unplugging the negative battery cable and isolating the connecting end, then wait two minutes for the necessary capacitor to finish discharging. Fit the multi-function switch into a mounting position next to the Clock Spring bracket on the right and hook up the jumper wire harness to its connector on the inboard part of the switch housing. Place the sides of the slide tab from the switch housing into the channels of the Clock Spring mounting bracket and push the switch deep enough to get a solid fit. Secure the back of the right multi-function switch onto the mounting bracket on the Clock Spring with the included screw and test that the tightness is 1 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Apply the upper and lower shrouds to the steering column and link the battery negative cable back to it.
