Before touching the windshield washer switch, you should disconnect the car battery's negative terminal and wait two minutes to make sure the air bag capacitor is not charged. First, take out the screw that ties the lower tilting steering column shroud to the switch housing and then carefully snip and release both halves of the shroud. Take out the right multi-function switch's connector from the switch connector receptacle. After that, undo the two screws supporting the right multi-function switch to its housing and remove the switch. When installing, set the right multi-function switch into the mounting housing and fix it there with the two screws, tightening each to 2.5 Nm (22 in. lbs.). Rebound the wire harness connector for the right multi-function switch and route the lower tilting steering column shroud under the steering shaft before installing the screw and tightening it to 17 in. lbs. Cover the top tilting column with the shroud, place the
Hazard Warning Switch button into the space, match it up with the lower shroud and snap both parts together. Lastly, plug in the battery's negative cable.
