2008 Jeep Liberty Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Washer Pump on 2008 Jeep Liberty?
    A: Be sure to first disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable before you start working on the windshield washer pump. Transfer the washer fluid from the reservoir on the left of the cooling module in the engine bay into a clean container for your use. Following this, remove the front end module wire harness connector (3) from the washer pump/motor unit connector receptacle on the top of the motor housing (2). Take off the ends of hoses (4 and 5) from the two outlet nipples on the washer pump/motor unit. Hold the washer pump/motor's top firmly and gently pull it out of the washer reservoir to separate it from the receptacle that sits inside. Take out the washer pump/motor unit straight up from inside the reservoir so you can separate the inlet nipple from the grommet/filter screen. In the end, take out and discard the rubber grommet seal/filter screen on the washer pump from its placement hole in the reservoir.
