2008 Jeep Wrangler Coil Springs Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove Coil Springs from a Front Suspension on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Support the car by raising it and then remove both the old wheel and its tire before removing the front coil spring. Make sure a hydraulic jack is placed underneath the axle. Seat will be lowered by taking out the bolts and nuts holding the front shocks to their inboard mountings and then the bolts and nuts holding the lower suspension arms to the frame. Slide the track bar away from the axle bracket and remove the right half of the drag link from the right side knuckle. Let the axle down enough so the spring is no longer attached to the upper mount. To remove it, roll the spring and press the axle down a little. If it helps, take out the upper spring isolator and take the jounce bumper out of its location on the arm.
