2008 Jeep Wrangler Sway Bar Bushing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Sway Bar Bushing on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Start by lifting and supporting your car before dealing with the sway bar bushing. After removing the left upper sway bar link nut, disconnect the left lower sway bar bolt to the axle which allows you to remove just the sway bar from the right side link. After that, take out the right upper sway bar link nut and remove the splash shield. Unbolt the three sway bar bracket bolts on the right side and the same three on the left side securing them to the frame, one at a time. When the sway bar (1) is free, set it on a bench and open the retaining tabs (1) in the bracket. If the tabs snap, that's fine as they are only for factory fitment. After that, remove the bracket (2), then soak each bushing (3) with soapy water and pull it off the sway bar.
