How to Service and Repair an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

Once you have a lift ready, bring the vehicle in for service to reach its heat shield. After that, take out the screws or nuts attaching the heat shields to the car's frame or floor pan. The muffler heat shield should be removed only after you have disconnected the muffler front support bracket. After that, pull the shields out to cover the exhaust system.
