• Q: How to install an EGR valve on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

  A: You should clean both the gasket area at the back of the cylinder head and the EGR valve before installing it. After that, place a fresh gasket (2) and set the EGR valve (1) in the rear of the cylinder head, fixing it with two EGR valve mounting bolts (3). Cleans the gasket mounting spots at each end of the EGR tube, then fasten a new gasket (5) and a new O-ring (3) on the tube. Mount the middle tube part at the EGR valve using two bolts, after which attach bolt (2) using the template. Attach the connector on the electrical end to the EGR valve, then assemble the upper plastic half of the intake manifold and use two tube flange bolts to fasten it. Reattach the black battery cable and use a diagnostic scan tool to eliminate any old DTC's from the memory.
