2009 Chrysler Aspen Washer Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Washer Pump on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: The first step to removing the washer pump is to take off and isolate the battery negative cable. A HEV specialist should remove the high voltage service disconnect from the HEV battery pack before you commence any vehicle service. Get to the underside of the back part of the washer reservoir by moving your hand between the wheel house shield and the front bumper. Take out the wire harness connector from the pump or motor on top of the washer. Then, unhook the washer hose on the front of the boat from the pump outlet nipple at the engine, letting the washer fluid go into a clean bucket to save for later. Loosen the rear washer hose from the outboard pump's outlet nipple. Take hold of the top part of the pump/motor housing and pull it upward and back to pull the snap-post out of the reservoir receptacle on the motor. After that, take hold of the lower part of the washer pump/motor housing and, doing a rocking motion, pull upward to release the pump inlet nipple from the rubber grommet seal/filter screen in the reservoir. After that, remove the grommet seal or filter screen located in the washer pump mounting hole and throw it away.
