2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Antenna Mast Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Service a Satellite Radio Antenna Mast on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: To take out the Satellite Radio Antenna Mast, you should first cut off and separate the negative battery cable. Pull down the back of the headliner to make room for reaching the antenna. Create an adhesive tool by twisting an 18 to 24 inch piece of nylon cord around two wooden handles. Take the nylon cord and, while holding the handles, make 360° circles, pushing the cord through the sticky seal below the dust cover on the antenna. Loosen the wires at the connector points of the antenna system. Stand inside the vehicle and use a small, flat tool to press down on one of the retaining tabs on the antenna. After that, raise up one side of the antenna connector so it comes out of a hole in the roof panel. Pushing down the other side of the connector, take out the antenna. After that, use isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth to remove the rest of the adhesive from the roof panel and if the original antenna is going back in place, remove the adhesive from the antenna mounting spot.
